Description
Smith & Nephew’s newest installment into the interactive educational series is the MTP joint stabilization (Plantar plate repair and collateral ligament repair). Flexor tendon transfers and Weil osteotomies often lead to loss of ROM, stiffness, and residual pain. The HAT-TRICK MTP System provides a complete repair of the lesser MTP joint that is less invasive and more anatomic than standard of care techniques. Benefits of the HAT-TRICK System include (1) Anatomic reattachment of collateral ligaments (2) Anatomic distal reattachment of the plantar plate (3) Preservation of the biomechanical axis, which can be lost when performing a metatarsal osteotomy (4) Elimination of the need to release the plantar plate from the metatarsus (5) Controlled tensioning of collateral ligaments and plantar plate.
This system may be used in conjunction with the complete HAT-TRICK Lesser Toe Repair System, which also includes the HAT-TRICK PIP Fusion system (for hammertoe repair) and the HAT-TRICK Metatarsal Osteotomy Guide.
